VICTORIA, March 2, 2010: New structure for Wellington
WELLINGTON Shire Council is restructuring the organisation in an attempt to improve efficiencies and ensure better representation of its 40,000 residents.
The shire is Victoria’s third largest municipality, and as part of the "zero head count" restructure, five new executive positions have been created general manager governance; general manager development; general manager liveability; general manager environment and emergency management; and executive manager community consultation and communicafions.
All five appointments are expected to be announced soon.
Wellington Shire Council implemented the restructure last week, after consultation with The Human Resources Centre, an outsourced human resources specialist, which reviewed and developed recommendations for the changes in keeping with council’s 2030 strategic vision and in compliance with the relevant local, state and nafional industrial relations requirements.
Wellington Shire Council chief executive Tim Johnson said he was "thrilled with the results of the full organisational restructure" and believed council was now better aligned to deliver to the community.
